Split is a small app by Anthronaut for sharing costs. It stores the collections people make and the expenses added to them, and nothing else.
What we store
- For whoever makes a collection: their email address, to sign them in (shared with other Anthronaut apps, so one account works everywhere), and the name they use.
- For each collection: its name, the names of the people in it, and the expenses and payments added to it, with their notes.
- A history of changes in each collection, labelled with the name the person picked.
People you share with
People who open a share link don't create an account and give us no email or other details. When they pick "who they are", that choice is kept on their own device only. It labels their changes; it isn't a sign-in.
Who can see a collection
The person who made it, and anyone with its share link. Treat the link like a key: anyone who has it can see the collection and add or change expenses. The owner can turn the link off or replace it at any time, which cuts off the old one. Every row is protected by row-level security in the database, so a link only ever opens its own collection.
What we don't do
- No ads, no tracking scripts, no selling or sharing data.
- No connections to banks or payment apps: everything is typed in.
- No emails beyond the owner's sign-in code.
Your controls
Anyone with a link can download its collection as CSV. Owners can download everything as JSON from Settings, and delete a collection or all their Split data at any time: it's removed right away, for everyone with the links. The sign-in is removed too, unless it's used for another Anthronaut app.
Where it lives
Data is stored with Supabase (US East) and the app runs on Render (US East). Sign-in codes are sent through Resend.
